From 1976 to 1988 what is now known as the Roosevelt Educational Alcoholism Counseling Treatment Center (REACT) operated as an alcoholism treatment program under the auspices of the Roosevelt Community Mental Health Center. In 1988 the program separated from the Roosevelt Community Mental Health Center and formed its own 501(c)(3) corporation. REACT has become an essential resource for people seeking alternatives to the ravages of addiction.

REACT CENTER, Inc. is a medically supervised Chemical Dependency Outpatient Treatment Program located in Roosevelt, NY servicing Roosevelt and the surrounding communities. We are licensed by The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) and contracted by Nassau County Department of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities Services (NCDMHCD &DDS).

Our mission is to provide quality, comprehensive treatment and related services to individuals and families affected by substance abuse and dependency.

Our philosophy is that Chemical Dependency is a progressive and chronic disease affecting individuals, families, and the community. We believe that people addicted to mood altering chemicals can achieve abstinence and live meaningful productive lives.

Our goal is to provide quality, comprehensive services that include evidence based driven interventions to effect positive behavioral changes that support an alcohol, drug and tobacco free lifestyle.
